Understanding End-of-Life Care

What Is Palliative & End-of-Life Care?

Palliative care is specialised care focused on providing relief from symptoms, pain and stress of a serious illness. End-of-life care is palliative care in the final stage — focusing on comfort, dignity and pain management.

Most people say they would prefer to spend their final days at home. At SGE Care, we make that possible — working in close partnership with GPs, district nurses, palliative care teams and hospice services.

A good death is one in keeping with the person's own wishes — in the place of their choosing, with the people they love, free from unnecessary pain and treated with complete dignity and respect.
